Mapei Football Center covers an area of 45,000 m\u00b2, consisting of a main building, six playing fields<\/strong>, a covered grandstand and two smaller service buildings. The main building is located between two football pitches and spans the entire length of the field. The ground floor houses the reception and conference room, followed by an area reserved exclusively for the first team, with dressing rooms, a gym, a medical room and a relaxation area, as well as offices for the manager and technical staff. The first floor is entirely reserved for the youth sector with offices, dressing rooms, a gym and a dedicated medical room. On the second floor, with a magnificent view of the training grounds, are the club offices and the reception room. <\/p>

The black&green training center is another important step on the club’s growth path<\/strong>. After owning their own stadium, a real pride for the club, Sassuolo Calcio now have a new home: a state-of-the-art facility<\/strong> designed to support the development of all the black&green teams, from the men’s first team to the youth teams, as well as the women’s first team. <\/p>

Mapei Football Center was born thanks to a convention between Sassuolo Calcio and the Municipality of Sassuolo, on the basis of a 40-year concession of a municipality-owned area in C\u00e0 Marta to implement and manage a sports promotion plan.<\/p>

For the construction of the entire training center, carried out by Colombo Construzioni on Onsitestudio’s project, the most innovative products, solutions and systems were used, as well as the qualified technical assistance of Mapei Group.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Remembering Giorgio Squinzi and Adriana Spazzoli<\/h3>

In November 2020, two key figures in the history of Sassuolo Calcio were honored with a meaningful gesture: the <\/span>access road to Mapei Football Center<\/b> was named after <\/span>Giorgio Squinzi<\/b>, while the <\/span>artificial turf pitch<\/b> now bears the name of <\/span>Adriana Spazzoli<\/b>. . This is a tangible sign of the commitment, vision and passion with which both contributed to the growth of Sassuolo Calcio and the construction of its identity, both on and off the pitch.<\/span><\/p>

The artificial pitch, named after Spazzoli, also represents <\/span>a standard of excellence:<\/b> it has been approved by UEFA for international youth competitions, certified by the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti for official youth and women’s matches, and awarded \u201cCertificazione di Omologazione Professional\u201d (Professional Approval Certification) by the FIGC Sports Facilities Commission. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

An award-winning and sustainable project<\/h3>

Mapei Football Center has been awarded the prestigious <\/span>LEED\u00ae v4 BD+C certification<\/b>, an international recognition that certifies the environmental sustainability of buildings:: after careful examination of the construction criteria, thanks to Mapei’s requests and the project carried out by Onsitestudio, the black&green training ground has obtained the important certification that attests not only its architectural quality but also its best standards of environmental respect when choosing the materials used during its construction.<\/span><\/p>

In addition, the project received an <\/span>honorable mention at the second edition of the Italian Architecture Award<\/b>, promoted by Triennale Milano and Fondazione MAXXI \u2013 Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI secolo di Roma, with the support of the Ministry of Culture. Mapei Football Centre has been recognised as a <\/span>cutting-edge building that has taken the tradition of measuring agricultural land and reinterpreted it<\/b> in the light of \u201ca modern<\/span> decor<\/span> <\/i>that reflects the need of a community to celebrate and represent itself\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A landmark facility for Italian football<\/h3>

Over the years, the black&green training ground has become a landmark for Italian football, hosting national teams on several occasions, including the <\/span>Italian national team<\/b>, which chose Mapei Football Center for their preparation for international events, confirming the technical and organisational excellence of the facility.<\/span><\/p>

In 2021, it was the setting for a prestigious initiative promoted by FIGC: a four-day event entirely dedicated to the development of<\/span> Italian women’s football<\/b>, with open days, workshops, training sessions and <\/span>the Final Four of the women’s Primavera championship<\/b>, played on the artificial pitch named after Adriana Spazzoli. The event reaffirmed the club’s strong commitment to the growth of women’s football as a whole. <\/span><\/p>

Always mindful of social issues, in 2024 the center held, together with Ricci Stadium in Sassuolo, the matches of the EAFF Amputee Football Champions League<\/b>, an international football tournament for amputees.
