The first half of the 2025/26 Serie A Women Athora season ends in defeat for Salvatore Colantuono’s Sassuolo, who are beaten 2–0 by Napoli Women on matchday 11. At the Ricci, the match is decided by Veletanlic’s goal in first-half stoppage time and a penalty converted by Banušić early in the second half.
Now attention is already turning to the next fixture: on Sunday 1 February in Biella, Sassuolo will visit Juventus on matchday one of the second half of the season.
Head coach Colantuono explained thatSassuolo had prepared well and created several chances in the first half, but the goal conceded in stoppage time and the penalty after the break decided the match: “We had prepared the match well, the penalty ultimately shaped the game.” He then stressed how demanding the league is and the need to keep working on every aspect, expressing confidence in the squad and already focusing on the next match: “The fight for survival is tight, now we immediately turn our attention to the next game.”
