25 July 2025

U.S. Sassuolo Calcio announces the signing -on loan with option to buy- of footballer Sebastian Walukiewicz (defender, born in 2000).

Born in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland, on April 5, 2000, Sebastian wore the jersey of MKP Gorzów Wielkopolski before being noticed in 2013 by Legia Warsaw, where, at the age of 16, he won the U19 championship and made his debut with the B team in the third division. In 2017 he moved to Pogoń Stettino II and after only 12 appearances he earned the first team call-up, debuting with the granata jersey at 18 years old and becoming a starter the following season with a total of 32 appearances, one goal and one assist.

In January 2019 he caught the attention of Cagliari who bought him and brought him to Serie A in summer: Sebastian made his debut in Rossoblù, as a starter, in the Italian Cup win against Sampdoria, and after having also made his debut in the league, he ended the 19/20 season by being one of the usual starting XI. After 45 appearances with the Sardinians, the defender moved to Empoli on September 1st, 2022: 40 matches in Serie A and on August 30,2024 Torino bought him while he made his debut on the same day.

Walukiewicz played for all Polish youth teams: between Under 15 and Under 21 he collected 51 appearances scoring 7 times, earning the first call-up with the senior national team for the Nations League in August 2020. He started and made his debut in the friendly match won 5-1 against Finland and celebrated the call for Euro2024 with his first goal with Poland in the friendly against Ukraine.

From the whole black&green family, welcome Sebastian!
