National Teams | Koné, Muharemović, and Thorstvedt head to the World Cup

1 April 2026

The March break comes to a close with several Neroverdi committed to their respective national teams and with a highly prestigious result. Tarik Muharemović joins Ismael Koné and Kristian Thorstvedt among the Neroverdi who will play at the upcoming World Cup.

Koné’s Canada team achieved its goal by right, having played a key role in the two friendly matches against Iceland (2-2) and Tunisia (0-0), which were valuable in preparing for the June event.
Muharemović’s Bosnia and Herzegovina also had a successful run, securing two penalty shootout victories against Wales (2–4 a.p.s.) and then against Italy (4–1 a.p.s.), thereby earning a spot in the World Cup. Thorstvedt’s Norway also qualified, having played two friendlies in March: a defeat against the Netherlands (2-1) and a draw against Switzerland (0-0) in the absence of Garcia.
commitments

Positive commitments also for Luca Lipani with Italy Under 21, protagonists of two clear victories against North Macedonia (4-0) and Sweden (0-4), confirming the excellent moment of the Azzurrini. The Neroverdi midfielder was the protagonist of two excellent performances and two goals.

For Arijanet Murić, engaged with Kosovo, spectacular victory against Slovakia (3-4) and narrow defeat against Turkey (0-1), a result that will not allow him to join his Neroverdi teammates in USA and Canada2026. Jay Idzes, recently awarded as player of the year, took part in Indonesia’s two matches: 4-0 victory against St. Kitts & Nevis and 0-1 defeat against Bulgaria.
