Stadio Ricci

The heart of the black&green women's and youth football

Enzo Ricci Stadium is a historic venue for Sassuolo Calcio. Located in the city center, it is now home to the women’s first team and the men’s youth team (Primavera).

Until promotion to Serie B in 2008, the stadium hosted the matches of the men’s first team, who continued to train there until May 2019.

Today, Ricci Stadium is a modern and functional facility, perfectly suited to the needs of youth and women’s football, but also to international sporting events: it has hosted Primavera Championship finals, international youth matches such as Italy vs. Germany Under-20, and in 2024, the EAFF Amputee Football Champions League.

Ricci Stadium is a place where the tradition and future of football meet, welcoming fans, families, and young talent. A facility that, while retaining the charm of its history, now offers modern and functional spaces, perfect for experiencing the black&green passion and major sporting events.

The facility

Over the years, Ricci stadium has been able to renew itself to keep pace with the demands of modern football.

In the summer of 2013, a major renovation project was launched, which included the installation of new turf and the creation of essential functional spaces: new dressing rooms, an indoor gym for physical preparation, a medical center for check-ups and first aid intervention, an office for technical meetings and a space dedicated to post training activities (ice bath). Every detail has been designed to ensure players have the best conditions for training and competing.

2023 marked another step forward toward the future: the stadium was equipped with a new, fully LED lighting system, an investment entirely funded by the club. This technological and sustainable choice has increased light intensity, allowing the stadium to host night games up to the men’s Serie C and women’s Serie A.
