U.S. Sassuolo Calcio announces the signing of footballer Alieu Fadera (forward, born in 2001) from Como 1907 on loan with option or obligation to buy.
Fadera was born on November 3rd, 2001 in Bakau, Gambia, and started playing football in the academy of Real de Banjul, he won his place in the first team and after 24 goals in 55 appearances he landed in Europe to play with Pohronie, in Superliga. In Slovakia he collected 22 appearances and 5 goals in the 2020-2021 season, and in August he moved to Belgium at Zulte Waregem: he remained there for two seasons collecting 58 appearances, 9 goals and 8 assists.
His adventure in the Jupiler Pro League continues at KRC Genk in the 23/24 season: he played 35 matches with the white-and-blue jersey, between the league, European cups and the national cup, scoring 3 goals and delivering 4 assists. On August 14, 2024, the Gambian striker was bought by Como and arrived in Serie A: with the Larians he played 28 games, scoring his first goal in Italy on September 24 in the match won 3-2 against Atalanta, in addition to 4 assists.
After winning the bronze medal in the WAFU U-20 Championship with Gambia, Fadera wore the senior national team jersey 15 times while also participating in the 2023 Afcon.
