After 17 years, 128 appearances, and three European Championships participations, Davina Philtjens has announced her decision to end her international career with the Belgian national team.
In a message posted on her social media channels, the black-&green defender expressed her gratitude for an extraordinary adventure, lived with pride and passion:
“Playing for my country has been one of the greatest privileges I could ever imagine. Every time I wore the national team jersey, I felt the pride of a nation, the strength of the team, and the fire that unites us all. We built something important: a culture of trust, ambition, and resilience.”
Philtjens leaves the national team as a star player and role model for new generations of Belgian footballers, but she will continue to give her all for Sassuolo, where she remains one of the defensive pillars and a figure of great experience both on and off the pitch.
