U.S. Sassuolo Calcio announces the signing -on loan with option to buy- of footballer Aster Vranckx (midfielder, born in 2002).
Born in Kortenberg, in the Flanders region, to a Belgian father and a Congolese mother, Aster started playing football for some local teams, then moved on to the academy of KV Mechelen, signing his first contract at the age of 15. He made his debut with the “Yellow and Reds” in the Super Cup match against Genk in July 2019, at 16, and also made his debut in the Jupiler Pro League 1A against Anderlecht a few days later. He collected 47 appearances, 5 goals and 4 assists with the Belgian club before being noticed by Wolfsburg, and in 2021 he signed with the Germans: after a season he caught the attention of AC Milan and landed in Serie A, where he played 9 times with an appearance in the Italian Cup. Back in Germany, Aster kept playing with the wolves for a total of 70 appearances and 2 goals.
From 2017 he is part of the national team, first with Belgium Under 15 up to U21, with a total of 21 appearances. Then, in June 2023 he received his first call with the first team of the Red Devils and made his debut against Austria during the 2024 European qualifiers. Vranckx wore his national team jersey another 8 times and participates in the Euro2024 campaign in Germany.
