U.S. Sassuolo Calcio announces the contract extensioon of Solène Durand.

Signed in July 2023, the French player born in ‘94 has collected 44 league appearances, defending the black&green goal with personality and confidence. Voted Best Women’s Serie A Goalkeeper in the 2023/24 season, Durand has established herself as one of the squad’s references and will continue her journey with Sassuolo.

Solène Durand’s words:

“I chose to continue my journey here because I have a special bond with this Club. Sassuolo had already been looking for me before my crusader injury and, months later, they contacted my agent to find out how I was doing. I really appreciated that sign: they believed in me, and from there a strong relationship was born.

I enjoy working with our goalkeeper coach and am curious to meet the new manager, to find out what he can teach me. I want to continue giving my best, bringing my experience, to help my teammates and also transfer some of my positive energy to the group.

Among the most beautiful memories, I carry with me the last six months of my first year: after a complicated start, we managed to get back up, and that momentum tied the group. It was my first year in Italy, and I think it was precisely that period that made me fall even more in love with this country.

Now a new season awaits us: we are preparing, but as always the support of our fans will be fundamental. I can’t wait to see you again at the stadium to face the new season together!”.
